Ty Wiedman drilled a trio of three-pointers in the fourth quarter to prevent any type of comeback by the Indians.
“Even when our shots started falling, we continued to play great defense,” Rincker said. “Plus, Hotze, Croy and Nuxoll did a great job on the boards and Ty continues to be a consistent three-point threat for us.”
The Bulldogs had a balanced scoring attack. Croy had 12 points, while Hotze and Wiedman scored 10 and Kennan Walsh and Nuxoll both added nine.
“I felt like we played a real team game,” Rincker added. “Together, we made the right plays consistently. It’s tough for a team to guard you when you have this type of balanced scoring.”
St. Anthony improved to 8-2 overall and 6-0 in the NTC. The Bulldogs will play two more games this week – Thursday at Teutopolis; and Friday at Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.
St. Anthony now controls its own destiny in the National Trail Conference. In addition to CHBC, the Bulldogs will close out their conference schedule next Wednesday at North Clay.
“We have two big conference games left; both on the road,” Rincker noted. “It’s always nice to be the team in control. It puts pressure on the other teams to keep up. We’re in the driver’s seat right now. This is the position we want to be in.”
