The St. Anthony Bulldogs clinched at least a share of the National Trail Conference title Friday night with a convincing 68-35 victory at Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.

The Bulldogs remained undefeated in seven conference games and set up a chance to clinch the title outright next Wednesday when they travel to Louisville to face North Clay.

It was over early Friday night. Craig Croy scored eight points, helping the Bulldogs build a 21-10 lead after the opening eight minutes. Seth Hotze netted six points, while Logan Antrim and Croy added four more in the second quarter. When the teams headed to the locker room, St. Anthony was in control, 40-19.

The Bulldogs didn’t let up in the third period. Croy knocked down a pair of three-pointers and scored eight points. Heading into the final quarter, SAHS had a commanding 36-point cushion, 65-29.

Croy finished the game with 20 points, while Hotze added 12.

St. Anthony improved to 9-3 overall and 7-0 in the National Trail Conference. The Bulldogs will return home Monday night for a non-conference game against Macon Meridian and then travel to Louisville Wednesday night to face North Clay.
