Mitch Hardiek pitched six strong innings and Evan Addis drove in three runs Friday afternoon, leading the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes to a 6-3 win at Woodlawn.
Hardiek allowed three hits and three runs, while walking just one and striking out nine. Luke Ungrund pitched the seventh.
In the second inning, Mitch Hemmen led off with a base hit, Matt Deters reached on error and Evan Addis reached on a fielder’s choice. Addis then stole second and Hemmen scored on the play. The second tally came across on an error.
Two Woodlawn errors helped THS score another in the third and Addis delivered an RBI single in the fifth to put T-Town on top 4-1.
The Shoes added a couple of insurance tallies in the seventh. An error, walk and a ground out had runners at second and third when Addis came through again, getting a single to drive in both runners.
The Shoes improved to 10-2 on the fall season. They will play Monday at South Central.
