The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes scored five runs in the opening inning and rolled to a 12-0, five-inning win at home Tuesday over Woodlawn.
The Shoes scored in each inning and added another five-run frame in the third. They finished with nine hits in the contest.
T-Town took control at the beginning. Mitch Koester reached on an error to start the bottom of the first. He went to second on a ground ball and scored what proved to be the winning run on a base hit by Ben Goeckner. An error and a walk loaded the bases. Caleb Siemer then walked to force in a run, a wild pitch allowed another run to score and Brett Kreke added a two-run single to stake the Shoes to a quick 5-0 lead.
THS added single tallies in the second and fourth and pushed five across in the third. Siemer had an RBI double, Kreke and Koester run-scoring singles and two runs scored on a pair of wild pitches.
Garrett Gaddis pitched the first four innings and got the win. He allowed just two hits and struck out four. Goeckner retired the side in order in the fifth.
The Shoes improved to 4-7. They will play at home Thursday against North Clay.
