It figured to be a good basketball game.

Neoga entered the contest with 21 wins and Teutopolis had already notched 17.

But it wasn’t.

The Lady Shoes jumped out to a double-digit lead, expanded it to almost 20 by halftime and rolled to a 59-28 decision at home Monday night.

Zoe Cremens helped T-Town get off to a fast start. She knocked down a pair of three-pointers and scored eight points, as the Lady Shoes bolted to a 19-9 lead after eight minutes of play. Emily Konkel scored six points and Cremens connected on another from behind the arc, helping the hosts outscore the Lady Indians 17-8 and take a comfortable 36-17 advantage to the locker room at halftime.

Teutopolis didn’t let up in the third quarter. It posted a 14-7 scoring edge to make it a 26-point bulge after three quarters before ending with the lopsided 31-point victory.

Cremens led three Lady Shoes in double figures with 13 points. Konkel finished with 12 and Kaylee Niebrugge added 11. Izzy Hardiek and Kaitlyn Schumacher contributed eight and seven points respectively, as T-Town ended with a balanced scoring attack.

Schumacher pulled down a game-high nine rebounds, as the Lady Shoes dominated the backboards, 29-17.

The Lady Shoes improved to 18-7 overall. They will now play their regular-season finale Thursday at home against Fairfield.
