The Teutopolis Lady Shoes, playing their fourth game in two days, posted a 51-41 victory over Galesburg Saturday night to capture the championship of the Coles County Girls Holiday Basketball Tournament.

T-Town defeated Champaign Central, Marion and St. Anthony to earn a spot in the title game.

The Lady Shoes led most of the game. They were up 12-9 after the opening eight minutes and 23-19 at intermission. They extended their lead to 34-27 heading into the final period.

Mollie Ruholl then knocked down a three-pointer and scored seven points in the fourth quarter to help Teutopolis stay in front.

Chloe Probst scored 17 points to lead the Lady Shoes, while Kelsey Niemerg and Malea Helmink had 12 and 11 points respectively. Helmink turned in a double-double, pulling down 12 rebounds.

Chloe Probst and Mollie Ruholl were both named to the all-tournament team.

The Lady Shoes improved to 14-2 overall. They will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 4. They will be at home against Paris.
