The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes just might be playing their best basketball at the right time.

The Shoes recorded their second straight double-digit victory over very good basketball teams – a 54-39 win Friday over St. Anthony; and then a 47-33 decision Tuesday night at Casey-Westfield.

The Shoes and Warriors were tied, 11-11, after the opening eight minutes, but T-Town led the rest of the way.

Landyn Thoele knocked down a three and scored seven second-quarter points, helping Teutopolis build a 25-17 lead at halftime. It was a nine-point spread after three periods, 36-27, and then Drew Hoene scored seven points in the final quarter to help the Shoes secure their fourth straight win.

Casey-Westfield’s Hayden Parcel pumped in a game-high 27 points, including all 16 of his team’s points in the second half.

Hoene scored 13 points and Alex Kremer added 11 to lead the THS scoring attack.

The Shoes improved to 18-9 on the season. They will host the Wooden Shoes Shootout on Saturday. T-Town is scheduled to face Triad at 5 p.m.
