Evan Wermert poured in 30 points Friday night and led the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes to a convincing 70-50 win at home over Mattoon.

Wermert knocked down six of T-Town’s 13 three-pointers, en route to his big offensive night.

The Shoes led throughout. They were on top 19-14 after the opening eight minutes and 36-24 at intermission. Heading into the fourth quarter, THS had a comfortable 53-36 advantage.

Jordan Hadiek drained five 3-pointers and finished with 19 points, while Caleb Siemer added 10. Wermert also had six rebounds and six assists.

Teutopolis improved to 7-3 overall and 3-3 in the Apollo Conference. The Shoes will play again today (Saturday) at Taylorville.
