The Teutopolis soccer team continued its fine play Monday evening with a 2-0 victory at home over Effingham.
Alex Deters scored a goal at the 27:58 mark of the first half and Linus Tanneryd added a penalty kick goal in the second half to lead the Shoes.
“We want to say a huge thank you to everybody that came out to support the two teams tonight,” said THS coach Aaron Wendt. “With the help of the local community, we were able to raise money for the Kinkelaar and Lohman families and bring attention to Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
“We are lucky and proud to be a part of such a loving and supportive community,” Wendt added. “Please keep Vivie Kinkelaar and Dawson Lohman, along with all other children suffering from cancer, in your thoughts.”
The Shoes, who improved to 11-2 on the season, will play Thursday at Centralia.
