The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes opened their 2019 fall soccer season in dominant fashion Tuesday.

Teutopolis scored the first six goals of the match and went on to post a 7-2 victory at home over Harrisburg in an opening-round contest of the St. Anthony/Teutopolis Soccer Invitational.

The tournament, hosted by both St. Anthony and Teutopolis, includes 10 teams and will continue Thursday and Saturday at both locations.

Alesia Bucciarelli scored three goals for the Shoes and Derek Deters added two more to spark the offense. Linus Tannery and Kaleb Bannick also added a goal apiece.

THS got on the board at the 10:53 mark of the first half and then added four more goals before the half ended to build a 5-0 lead at intermission. T-Town made it 6-0 just three minutes into the second half. Harrisburg scored two goals, but the Shoes wrapped up the scoring with their final goal with about five minutes to go.

Teutopolis had 23 shots on goal, compared to just 6 for Harrisburg. Seth Emmerich was the goalie for the Shoes.

The Shoes will return to action at home Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. match against Mt. Carmel. On Saturday, T-Town will play at 11 a.m. against Altamont. That match will be played on the St. Anthony field. Then at 3 p.m., the Shoes will return home to face St. Anthony.
