The Teutopolis Lady Shoes got a big late-inning rally to record an 8-5 win at home Tuesday over Marshall.
The Lady Shoes trailed 5-2 when they came to bat in the bottom of the fifth. But one error and seven hits later, they had the lead.
With one out, Erin Althoff reached on an error. And then the hit barrage began.
Emily Konkel singled and Daisha Piedra ripped a double, driving in both Althoff and Konkel. Kaylee Niebrugge then had an RBI single and Courtney Gibson’s triple brough home another run. Estella Mette followed with a run-scoring single, and after Summer Wall got a hit, Olivia Copple capped the comeback with an RBI single.
Gibson relieved to start the sixth inning and pitched two scoreless innings to gain the victory. Jordan Goeckner started and pitched the first five innings.
T-Town scored its first two runs in the third. Olivia Copple walked, stole second and scored on a base hit by Althoff. On the throw home, Althoff went to second base and then scored on an RBI single by Piedra.
The Lady Shoes improved to 14-3. They will be back in action Thursday with a game at Highland.
