The Teutopolis Lady Shoes scored three runs in the opening inning and went on to post a 6-1 victory Wednesday afternoon over St. Anthony to advance to the championship game of the Class 2A Teutopolis Regional.
The Lady Shoes will face Marshall at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the THS diamond. The winner will advance to the Tolono Unity Sectional.
With one out in the first inning, Jersey Gaddis grounded a base hit up the middle. Malea Helmink then walked and Olivia Wermert reached on an error to load the bases. CJ Apke reached on an infield single to drive home the first run. Kayleigh Zerrusen was hit by a pitch to bring home the second tally and Lauryn Shue made it 3-0 with another infield hit.
The Lady Bulldogs scored their lone run in the third on a two-out RBI single by Camille Wines.
T-Town expanded its lead, scoring two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth.
In the fourth, Shue walked and Chloe Hoene reached on a bunt single to start things off. With two outs, Helmink lined a pitch down the leftfield line for a two-run double. In the fifth, Zerrusen doubled and Shue delivered an RBI single.
Alyssa Tipton pitched all seven innings to get the win. She allowed five hits and the one run, while walking four and striking out two.
The Lady Bulldogs ended their season at 12-14.
The Lady Shoes are now 13-11.
