The St. Anthony Bulldogs had their 10-game winning streak come to a halt Friday, dropping a 6-3 decision at Altamont.

The St. Anthony defense – or lack thereof – played a big role in that. The Bulldogs committed seven errors, resulting in five unearned runs.

The Indians broke on top with a four-run fourth. Jared Hammer led the inning off with a single and Mason Robinson reached on an error. With one out, Kienon Eirhart delivered an RBI single. After Kaidyn Miller singled to load the bases, a pair of St. Anthony errors allowed three more runs to score.

St. Anthony got on the board in the top of the fifth with two walks and a sacrifice fly by Will Hoene.

Altamont came right back with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Hammer again led off with a base hit and Robinson again reached on an error. Eirhart drove in one with a single and the second run scored on another error.

The Bulldogs got their final two tallies in the seventh. Eli Levitt singled, Beau Adams walked and Colton Fearday singled to load the bases. Hoene had another sacrifice fly and Angelo Mendella drove in the final run with a ground ball.

Dillian Elam pitched the first 4.1 innings to get the win for the Indians. Hammer and Mason Winn pitched the final 2.2 innings.

Brody Niebrugge took the loss for St. Anthony. He went four innings, allowing five hits and five runs, although only one was earned. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out three. Levitt pitched the final two innings.

The Bulldogs are now 11-3 on the season. They will return to action today (Saturday) at Marshall and will play Monday at Dieterich.
