Brock Fearday pitched five innings of shutout baseball and the St. Anthony Bulldogs provided plenty of offense, finishing with a 14-1, six-inning victory Monday at Dieterich.
Brock Fearday allowed only three hits. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out four in his five innings of work. Max Koenig pitched the final inning.
The Bulldogs scored three runs in the opening inning, added a single tally in the fourth, two more in the fifth and then exploded for eight runs in the sixth.
In the first inning, Eli Levitt led off with his first of three hits and then stole second. After Colton Fearday walked, Will Hoene drove in the first run of the game with a base hit. Angelo Mendella then doubled to drive home the second run and Brady Hatton followed with an RBI single.
Levitt added an RBI single in the fourth and SAHS scored two more runs in the fifth on a passed ball and a wild pitch. The Bulldogs then combined four singles, two walks and five hit batters to push eight runs across the plate in the sixth. Brody Niebrugge had a two-run single and Connor Roepke added an RBI single in that big sixth inning.
The Bulldogs improved to 13-3 on the season. They will return to action today (Tuesday) with a game at Lake Land College. They will face South Central at 5 p.m.
