St. Anthony banged out 19 hits and four pitchers combined to throw a shutout Wednesday, as the Bulldogs traveled to Woodlawn and posted an 18-0, four-inning victory.

Eli Link, Brady Hatton, Brock Fearday and Brock Jansen each pitched one inning, scattering five hits. The foursome struck out eight and didn’t walk a batter.

The Bulldogs took control in the opening inning, sending 11 batters to the plate and scoring six times. Angela Mendella and Colton Fearday singled and Will Hoene reached on a dropped third strike to start things off. The first run scored on a passed ball, followed by a run-scoring single by Brody Niebrugge and an RBI double by Eli Link. After another run scored on an error, Eli Levitt drove in a run with a double and Mendella capped the inning with an RBI single.

St. Anthony scored twice in the second, added a single tally in the third and then exploded for nine runs in the fourth.

The Bulldogs combined seven hits, three hit batters and an error in that inning. Brock Fearday had two hits in the frame and drove in three runs. Hatton, Sammy Link, Hoene and Nick Ruholl also had RBI hits in the inning.

The Bulldogs improved to 12-4 and stretched their winning streak to four. They will return home Friday to face Teutopolis.
