The St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs exploded for 10 runs in the fourth inning Monday and rolled to a 12-0, five-inning win at Brownstown/St. Elmo.
SAHS held a slim 2-0 lead when it came to bat in the fourth. Sydney Kibler led things off with a triple – the first of 11 hits, six of which went for extra bases – in the inning. A bunt by Anna Faber brought in the first run, Abbi Hatton followed with a double and scored when Grace Karolewicz’s ground ball was booted for an error. Cameron Rios then had an RBI single and scored on a double by Addie Wernsing.
With two outs, Lucy Fearday brought home a run with a double and she scored on a base hit by Maddie Kibler. After Sydney Kibler got her second hit of the inning, Faber launched a three-run homer.
But the Lady Bulldogs still weren’t finished. Hatton doubled and Karolewicz singled to cap the big inning.
Sydney Kibler pitched the first three innings to get the win, allowing just one hit and one walk, while striking out five. Stacie Vonderheide pitched the final two innings.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 11-3 on the season. They will return home Thursday to face Windsor/Stew-Stras.
