It doesn’t matter whether the St. Anthony girls tennis team plays at home or on the road.

The dominance continues.

Such was the case Monday afternoon when the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Greenville and posted a 9-0 shutout. St. Anthony won every set and didn’t drop a single game in nine of them.

The Lady Bulldogs will be at home today (Tuesday) at St. Thomas More.

Effingham tennis coach Erik Williamson knew his team was in for a difficult task Wednesday afternoon.

The Lady Hearts traveled across town to face a very talented St. Anthony squad and dropped a 9-0 decision.

“We played hard against a dominant St. Anthony team,” Williamson said. “The girls knew they had their work cut out for them. St. Anthony is a class act. I’m very proud of the effort our girls put in. I know that going into next week’s Apollo Tournament if we play as tough as we played tonight, we have a great opportunity to have success.”

On Thursday afternoon, the Lady Bulldogs dominated yet another opponent, blanking Mt. Zion 9-0. St. Anthony didn’t lose a set and posted 6-0 shutouts in 15 of the 18 total sets played. The Lady Bulldogs lost only three games the entire day.
