Luke Ungrund and Brock Deters combined to throw the second straight shutout for Teutopolis, helping the Wooden Shoes post a 2-0 decision Tuesday at home over Woodlawn.

After Trenton Schwerdt threw a two-hit shutout Monday, Ungrund and Deters combined to allow just four hits, while blanking Woodlawn.

Ungrund went the first five innings to get the win. He gave up three hits and two walks and struck out six. Deters pitched the final two innings to get the save. He allowed only one hit and fanned a pair.

T-Town scored both of its runs in the opening inning. With one out, Mitch Hardiek and Schwerdt had back-to-back singles. Mitch Hemmen drove in the first tally with a ground out and the second run scored on an error.

The Shoes had a chance to get more in the sixth. They had three hits and a walk, but one runner got picked off base.

Teutopolis extended its winning streak to six and improved to 12-2 with the win. The Shoes will play Saturday in the North Clay Showcase and will then face North Clay on Sunday at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Game time Sunday is 4 p.m.
