Hemmen had a sacrifice fly in the first, an RBI single in the second and then blasted a two-run homer in the seventh.

Schwerdt drove in a run with a ground ball in the opening inning, then followed with an RBI single in the second, a bases loaded walk in the third and a run-scoring single in the seventh.

Deters had an RBI ground out in the fourth and then delivered a bases-clearing double in the seventh.

Schwerdt was also the winning pitcher. He went six innings and gave up seven hits and three runs, only one of which was earned. He walked just one and struck out nine.

Hunter Cripe took the loss for Altamont. Kaden Eirhart and Noah Teasley both had two hits for the Indians and Eirhart drove in a pair.

Altamont had back-to-back five-run innings to start the second game. They combined four hits, a walk, a hit batter and two errors to score five times in the opening frame. A.J. Kopplin had a two-run single in that inning. The Indians then took advantage of six walks and two hits and pushed five more runs across in the second. Five more walks and a hit resulted in their final three tallies in the third.

T-Town took a brief 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Sam Bushur led off with a base hit and scored when Evan Wermert singled with two outs. The Shoes final run came in the third. Bushur, again, led off with a hit, followed by an error and a hit batter and a walk to Derek Konkel with the bases loaded.

Wyatt Phillips turned in a strong five-inning pitching performance for the Indians. He gave up just three hits and two runs, while walking one and striking out four. Cade Buehnerkemper took the loss for Teutopolis.

The Wooden Shoes, who are now 6-2, will play Thursday at Mulberry Grove.
