It took a few minutes to get going, but when they did, the Teutopolis Lady Shoes rolled.
T-Town trailed by a point after the opening eight minutes, but then went on a 34-12 scoring surge in the middle two quarters to pull away and post a 61-32 win at home Tuesday night over Altamont.
The Lady Indians used nine points from Grace Nelson to take an 11-10 lead after the first period. But it was all Lady Shoes after that.
The hosts outscored Altamont 19-4 in the second quarter and 15-8 in the third period to build a 44-23 advantage.
Kaitlyn Schumacher had a big game for THS, turning in a double-double. She scored 12 points in both halves to finish with 24. She also pulled down 11 rebounds. Emily Konkel and Izzy Hardiek were also in double figures, scoring 11 and 10 points respectively.
Nelson finished with 19 points for the Lady Indians.
The Lady Shoes improved to 15-6 on the season. They will be back in action Friday, playing at Effingham.
