In a span of five days, the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes have faced two of the best Class 3A teams in the state.

After playing at Mt. Zion on Tuesday night, T-Town traveled to the Pinckneyville Shootout on Saturday and faced No. 10 Centralia.

The Shoes stayed within striking distance in the first half, but the Orphans used a big third quarter to pull away, en route to a 58-24 decision.

Centralia led 23-13 at halftime. Cruz Harlan then connected on a three-pointer and scored seven points and Dustin Collins added four more, helping Centralia go on a 20-6 scoring surge in the third period to take control.

Collins finished with a game-high 15 points and Harlan added 12, as the Orphans improved to 23-2 on the season.

Garrett Gaddis scored 10 points for Teutopolis.

The Shoes are now 14-8 on the season. They will play at Newton on Tuesday night.
