The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes went on the road Wednesday night to open the 2025 portion of their schedule and came home with a 41-37 victory over Monticello.

The Shoes grabbed a 15-11 lead after the opening eight minutes and led throughout. They were on top 24-17 at halftime and 34-26 heading into the fourth period.

Carter Foran led the Sages, now 6-7, with 13 points.

Mick Niebrugge had a strong game, turning in a double-double performance. He scored a game-high 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Drew Hoene added 12 points.

The Shoes shot 39 percent overall, connecting on 17-of-44 attempts. They were 2-for-11 from three-point range and 9-for-16 at the foul line. They also held a 32-24 rebounding advantage.

The Shoes improved to 10-4 on the season. They will return to action Saturday with a game at Taylorville.
