For the second straight game, the Teutopolis Lady Shoes experienced a cold shooting performance.

But this time, they didn’t survive it.

After shooting just 29 percent in a win over Mattoon last week, T-Town shot only 30 percent Saturday and the result was a 44-36 setback to Carlyle in the Breese Central Shootout.

The Lady Indians built a 15-8 lead in the first period and never trailed. They led 25-19 at halftime and 36-29 heading into the final eight minutes.

The Lady Shoes made just 14-of-46 shots overall. They were only 1-of-8 from three-point range.

Anna Probst scored 11 points and Chloe Probst added 10. Malea Helmink came close to a double-double. She had nine points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

The Lady Shoes dipped to 15-3 on the season. They will return home Monday to face Civic Memorial.
