The Teutopolis Lady Shoes are probably glad there are no more games with teams from Breese on their regular schedule.

Saturday, the T-Town girls dropped a game at Breese Central, the No. 1-ranked team in Class 2A.

And Tuesday night, it was Breese Mater Dei that traveled to J.H. Griffin Gymnasium and posted a 54-38 win over the host Lady Shoes.

Mater Dei led throughout.

Mariah Bonhoff scored seven points and Alyssa Koerkenmeier added six, as the Lady Knights built a 23-14 advantage after the opening eight minutes. It was a 10-point spread, 31-21, at halftime, and heading into the fourth period, Mater Dei owned an 18-point lead, 45-27.

Koerkenmeier scored 16 points and Bonhoff added 15 for the Lady Knights, who improved to 19-9.

Kelsey Niemerg led Teutopolis with 10 points, while Anna Probst scored eight.

The Lady Shoes are now 19-8. They will return to action Thursday with a game at Altamont.
