Courtney Gibson pitched a complete game and belted a pair of solo home runs Thursday afternoon, leading the Teutopolis Lady Shoes to an 11-2 win at home over Altamont.

Gibson allowed just four hits, while walking three and striking out five, while throwing 81 pitches. She also homered in the first and sixth innings.

The Lady Shoes took control with a five-run first. Erin Althoff got things started with a lead-off double. Emily Konkel walked and Daisha Piedra got T-Town on the board with an RBI single. With two outs, Estella Mette blasted a three-run homer and Gibson followed with her first solo shot to stake the hosts to a quick 5-0 lead.

The Lady Shoes added a single tally in the second and then broke the game open with a five-run sixth. Gibson started that inning with a blast over the centerfield fence. Piedra and Danielle Sarchet added RBI singles and Kaylee Niebrugge delivered a two-run double to wrap up the scoring.

The Lady Shoes improved to 6-2 on the spring. The Lady Shoes are scheduled to play at home today (Friday) against Mt. Zion.
