Courtney Gibson was dominant on the mound, firing a one-hit shutout and helping the Teutopolis Lady Shoes post a 4-0 victory at home Monday afternoon over Shelbyville.
Gibson only allowed three baserunners in her 83-pitch complete game. She gave up walks in the first and fourth innings and a lead-off double in the seventh. She struck out seven.
T-Town scored single tallies in the first and sixth innings and added a pair of runs in the second.
In the opening inning, Erin Althoff had a lead-off single. She stole second and scored on an RBI double by Kaylee Niebrugge. The Lady Shoes took advantage of three Shelbyville errors to score their two runs in the second.
In the sixth, Olivia Copple had a one-out single, stole second and scored on a base hit by Althoff.
The Lady Shoes improved to 15-5. They will be back in action at home today (Tuesday) against Mattoon.
