The Teutopolis Lady Shoes opened postseason play in impressive fashion Monday,

The Lady Shoes sent 16 batters to the plate, scored 11 runs in the first inning and then cruised to a 16-1, four-inning win in an opening-round game of the St. Anthony Class 2A Regional.

T-Town combined nine hits, two walks, a hit batter and an error to push 11 runners across the plate. Chloe Hoene had two hits in the inning, a two-run single and an RBI double. Kayleigh Zerrusen also had a two-run single and Summer Wall added an RBI triple.

Teutopolis scored four more runs in the second and a single tally in the third.

Olivia Hemmen got the win. She pitched all four innings, giving up three hits and a run. She didn’t walk a batter and struck out one.

The Lady Shoes have now won three straight games and improved to 16-17. They will now advance and play Pana, the No. 2 seed, at 4 p.m. Wednesday. That game will be at St. Anthony High School.
