The Teutopolis boys golf team got a win Monday, although Windsor/Stew Stras didn’t have enough to complete a team score.

Drew Kerner and Gabe Schlink paced the Wooden Shoes, shooting a 42 and 45 respectively. Andy Niebrugge finished with a 50 and Zach Ruholl had 51 to complete the team score of 188. Also competing for THS was Gavin Meyer (51), Peyton Tegeler (55), Kayden Zerrusen (58), Paul Niemerg 63, Gage Wendt 69 and Nick Buehnekemper (69).

The Shoes will play Tuesday at Pana.

The T-Town girls played in a triangular golf match Thursday at Charleston and finished second.

The host Lady Trojans won the match with 199 total strokes. The Lady Shoes finished with 246 and Paris didn’t have enough players to generate a team score.

For Teutopolis, Averie Bushue shot 52, Alaina Helmink 64, and both Maggie Koester and Abigail Wortman had 65 to round out the team score. Mollie Koester also played and shot 68.

The Lady Shoes will return to action Monday at home against Salem.

The Teutopolis boys golf team competed in the Olney Invitational Friday at the Richland Country Club.

Mt. Carmel won both the best ball format, with a 63 total, and the stroke play format, finishing with 330 strokes. The Wooden Shoes were 10th in best ball and 11th in stroke play. There were 12 teams in the field.

For THS, Gavin Meyer shot 94, Drew Kerner 100, Andy Niebrugge 102 and Zach Ruholl 104 to round out the team scoring of 400 strokes. Gabe Schlink also competed and shot 117. In best ball, the Shoes shot 79.

T-Town will play at Greenville Tuesday.

The Teutopolis boys golf team traveled to Greenville Tuesday afternoon and competed in a triangular match.

Hillsboro won the match with a 151 total. Greenville was runner-up with 190 total strokes and the Shoes were third with a total of 200.

For T-Town, Drew Kerner had the low round of 44. Andy Niebrugge shot 51, Gavin Meyer 52 and Zach Ruholl 53 to complete the team scoring. Also playing were Gabe Schlick (58) and Peyton Tegeler (60).

The Shoes will be back in action today (Wednesday) at Effingham.

The Teutopolis girls golf team posted a win at Sullivan Thursday.

The Lady Shoes finished with 232 total strokes, which was 24 strokes better than Sullivan in a match played at Sullivan Country Club.

Averie Bushue led THS with a nine-hole score of 49. Maggie Koester shot 54, Abigail Wortman 62 and Mollie Koester 67 to round out the team score. Alaina Helmink (70) also participated.

The Lady Shoes, along with Effingham and Teutopolis, will play Monday at the Fox Prairie Golf Course outside Windsor.
