St. Anthony competed in a triangular girls golf match at Olney Wednesday, but didn’t have enough players to qualify for a team score.

Mt. Carmel won the match with 180 total strokes, while Olney was second at 229.

For the Lady Bulldogs, Maddy Brummer shot 48, Cara Hakman 49 and Jessica Coffin 51.

St. Anthony will host Effingham today (Thursday).

Michael Martelli earned medalist honors Wednesday, helping the St. Anthony boys golf team win a triangular match at the Richland County Country Club in Olney.

Martelli fired a 39, as the Bulldogs finished with 165 total strokes. Olney was runner-up with 178 and Mt. Carmel was third with 199.

For St. Anthony, Ryan Schultz shot 40, Thomas Chojnicki 41 and Luke Flaig 45 to complete the team scoring. Also playing was Jayden Rios (46), Jonathan Willenborg (46), Darin Hutchison (51) and Aidan Tegeler (52).

The Bulldogs will play host to Effingham on Friday.

Macy Ludwig and Morgan Schuette turned in sub-80 rounds Saturday, leading the St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs to the championship of the Windsor Girls Golf Tournament, played at Fox Prairie Golf Course.

Ludwig shot 76 and Shuette finished with 78, helping the Lady Bulldogs to a 325 team total. Effingham was second at 358, followed by Litchfield at 428 and Sullivan at 490.

For St. Anthony, Ellie Wegman shot 84 and Lauren Schwing 87 to complete the team scoring. Reagan Westendorf (98) also played.

For the Lady Hearts, Ava Boehm fired an 83 to finish third overall individually. Kennedy Collier and Morgan Krouse both shot 88 and Jaelyn Boone 99 to complete the team score. Anna Sigg (103) and Anna Hirtzel (123) also participated.

Effingham will host a triangular match Tuesday.

St. Anthony will play Wednesday at Olney.

Luke Flaig shot the low round of the day and helped the St. Anthony boys capture first place in the Windsor Golf Invitational, played at Fox Prairie Golf Course.

Flaig shot 37-38 to finish with a 75, helping the Bulldogs to a 316 team total. Sullivan was second in the 11-team field at 319 and Arcola a distant third at 350. Effingham was fourth at 352 and Teutopolis 10th at 396.

For St. Anthony, Thomas Chojnicki shot 79 and Jayden Rios and Jonathan Willenborg both finished at 81 to complete the team scoring. Also playing were Ryan Schultz (83) and Michael Martelli (86).

Effingham was led by Tate Niebrugge, who shot an 80. Aiden Beck had an 88, Ryker Schneider 90 and Ben Donsbach 94 to complete the scoring. Austin Waldhoff (96) and Ethan Ritz (99) also competed.

Drew Kerner and Andy Niebrugge both shot 92 for the Shoes, while Gavin Meyer had 101 and Gabe Schlink 111. Also playing was Peyton Tegler (132).

Effingham and Teutopolis will both play at home Tuesday. The Hearts will host Charleston and the Shoes will welcome Robinson.

The St. Anthony and Teutopolis girls golf teams participated in the Salem Invitational Saturday and finished second and third respectively.

Breese Central won the five-team event with 15 team points, followed by St. Anthony with 14, T-Town 13.5, Centralia 7.5 and Salem 5.

Each team could have up to five players participate in foursomes. The team score was based on how many holes each golfer won.

For example, T-Town’s Averee Bushue won seven different holes in her group, more than anyone else, and recorded four teams points. St. Anthony’s Maddy Brummer won five holes in her group, finished second and received three team points.

For the Lady Bulldogs, Nina Hakman had 3 points; Maddy Brummer 3 points; Cara Hakman 4 points; Jessica Coffin 4 points.

For the Lady Shoes, Averee Bushue had 4 points; Maggie Koester 2 points; Abigail Wortman 3 points; Alaina Helmink 2 points; and Mollie Koester 2.5 points.

THS will play Tuesday at home against Robinson.
