The Altamont Lady Indians are headed to the sectional tournament.
The talented Lady Indians jumped out to a quick lead Friday night and rolled to a 64-30 victory over St. Anthony in the championship game of the St. Anthony Class 1A Regional.
Altamont, now 26-6 on the year, advances to the Casey-Westfield Sectional. The Lady Indians will face Central A&M at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Mary Guse hit a pair of 3-pointers and Ellie McManaway added seven points, helping Altamont build a 23-9 lead after the opening eight minutes. By halftime, it was 32-16. The Lady Indians then outscored St. Anthony 20-5 in the third period to open a commanding 52-21 advantage.
Guse and Allyson Hardiek led Altamont with 16 points apiece. McManaway scored 12 and Rachel Jackman added 10.
Grace Karolewicz led St. Anthony with nine points and Lucy Fearday added seven.
The Lady Bulldogs finished their season with a 13-16 record.

When talking about the postseason, St. Anthony coach Aaron Rios said “this is the time of year you go hard or you go home.”
His Lady Bulldogs were seemingly on the verge of going home Wednesday night, but then played extremely hard during the fourth quarter and survived to play another game.
Trailing by eight points heading into the final period, the Lady Bulldogs went on an eight-minute surge that completely turned the game around and finished with a 56-52 victory over Dieterich in a semifinal game of the St. Anthony Class 1A Regional.
The Lady Bulldogs will now face top-seeded Altamont for the regional championship at 7 p.m. Friday.
The Lady Maroons, after a 17-9 scoring run in the third quarter, led 44-36 heading into the final eight minutes.
A free throw by Lucy Fearday started the SAHS comeback. Izzy Hakman and Riley Guy turned Dieterich turnovers into baskets and Reese Jones hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 44-44 with 5:49 left.
Two minutes later, Katelyn Boerngen connected from the behind the arc to put Dieterich back on top, 50-46. But from that point on, it was all St. Anthony.
The St. Anthony Junior High eighth grade boys captured the St. Elmo Class 8-2A Regional with a 43-36 victory over St. Elmo. The Bullpups will now play in the St. Anthony Sectional. SAJHS, 10-17 on the season, will face Casey-Westfield, 23-3, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The St. Anthony Bulldogs jumped out to a quick, early lead and rolled to a 68-31 victory Tuesday night at South Central.
Jaccob Dust scored 11 points in the opening eight minutes and the Bulldogs built a 24-8 advantage. By intermission, it was a 50-19 margin.
Dust finished with 16 points and Logan Antrim added 12.
The Bulldogs, now 23-3, will return to action Saturday in the Teutopolis Shootout. They will face Central A&M at 4 p.m.
St. Anthony also won the junior varsity contest 50-34. Craig Croy scored 12 points and Seth Hotze had 11.
The Bulldogs made it a clean sweep by also winning the freshman-sophomore game 47-18. Will Hoene and Brody Niebrugge both scored eight points.
Casey-Westfield grabbed an early lead and went on to post a 68-58 victory Monday night at St. Anthony in a freshman-sophomore game.
The Warriors led 21-16 after the first period, 41-27 at halftime and 53-40 heading into the fourth quarter.
Craig Croy scored 14 points for the Bulldogs, while Kyle Stewart had nine.
